On 1 October, EiiF celebrates TIPCHECK DAY 2026 – and a special milestone: 15 years of TIPCHECK helping industry reduce costs, comply with regulations and achieve sustainability goals by improving the energy efficiency of technical insulation systems.
The foundations of the TIPCHECK Programme were laid in 2009, when EiiF was founded and immediately started developing a standardised training and assessment methodology for technical insulation systems. The first TIPCHECK Trainings followed in 2010, before certified TIPCHECK Experts started carrying out assessments in industrial plants in 2011.
Since then, TIPCHECK has developed into an international programme extending from Europe to the APAC region, supported today by a network of more than 160 certified TIPCHECK Experts.
More than 3.500 plants in Europe and beyond have already undergone a TIPCHECK, identifying immediately available energy and CO₂ savings as well as highly attractive investment opportunities for industrial companies.
From identifying potential to delivering results
One of the strongest indicators of TIPCHECK's impact is what happens after an assessment: three out of four TIPCHECK clients subsequently invest in the identified insulation improvements. With today's high energy prices further strengthening the business case for energy-efficient insulation, recent experience indicates that this share is increasing further.
TIPCHECK therefore goes beyond identifying energy-saving potential. By turning previously invisible energy losses into concrete technical and economic opportunities, the programme helps industrial companies reduce energy consumption, emissions and operating costs while generating new business opportunities for the insulation industry.
The result is a clear win-win-win: for industrial asset owners, the insulation industry and the environment.
15 years – and the ambition is growing
TIPCHECK DAY 2026 is not only an opportunity to look back at 15 years of development. EiiF's ambition is to significantly increase TIPCHECK activity in the coming years, enabling more industrial companies to identify their energy-saving potential and turn it into concrete insulation improvements.
Expanding and continuously developing the international network of certified TIPCHECK Experts will be an important part of this effort.
Next TIPCHECK Training: 16–20 November 2026
The next TIPCHECK Expert Training will take place from 16–20 November 2026 at the FIW München laboratories in Germany.
The training provides EiiF Member companies with an opportunity to certify new TIPCHECK Experts and expand their existing teams. Already certified Experts who have not carried out TIPCHECKs for some time can also use the training to refresh and reactivate their TIPCHECK competence.
The November training will also introduce an important new development. For the first time, participants will be trained in the new Plant Integrity function of the TIPCHECK TOOL, specifically developed for assessments of equipment containing media below ambient temperature.
