Energy Efficiency is ready to scale up and deliver - 33 organisations confirm
21 Apr 2026

Following the EU Council conclusions of March 19, the European Commission’s Directorate F is currently developing a Toolbox to address the ongoing energy crisis. This Toolbox will form part of a pre-Council package, ahead of the informal EU-Council taking place on April 23–24.

At this critical moment, it is crucial that the Energy Efficiency Community collectively advocates for strong consideration of energy efficiency measures. This week we were sending a letter addressed to Ursula von der Leyen which was organised by the European Alliance to Save Energy (EU-ASE) and co-signed by 33 organisations.

All co-signing companies and associations express their support for identifying cross-sectoral, quick-to-deploy energy efficiency solutions that can strengthen Europe’s energy security and for developing a concrete
action plan to enable their large-scale implementation.

The technologies already exist. Across buildings, industry, and transport, energy efficiency can:

🔹 Reduce energy demand and system costs
🔹 Accelerate electrification
🔹 Strengthen resilience and competitiveness

The economic case is clear. The technologies are ready. The strategic necessity is undeniable.

In the context of an unprecedented energy crisis, decisive action on energy efficiency is an opportunity for Europe to lead with confidence and determination.

The industrial insulation community is ready to deliver and EiiF members and insulation market leaders have confirmed that scaling up by 10% - 20% is possible.

So what are we waiting for?
