EiiF presented at eceee’s Industrial Efficiency 2018 how motivation and digitalisation can drive behaviour change in industry

14 Jun 2018

The EiiF has participated in the Industrial Efficiency 2018 conference organized by the European Council for an Energy Efficient Economy (eceee) on 11-13 June in Berlin. By organizing an event like this, exclusively dedicated to energy in industry, eceee wants to make sure that industrial efficiency gets the attention it deserves and that the huge savings potentials within the industry sector are being tapped.

In this spirit, Andreas Gürtler, EiiF Foundation Director, did a presentation on “How motivation and digitalisation can drive behavior change in industry”. The presentation showed how the combination of motivation programmes with the use of digital reporting tools can help to change the behavior of workers and asset owners towards energy efficiency.

Following the principle: “You don’t know, what you don’t know, until you know” and based on the TIPCHECK experiences, the EiiF is developing a digital tool for asset owners and their employees to inspect their own facilities for energy efficiency potentials like insulation potentials, switch off machine potentials (reporting if and when machines are running without producing), safety issues (e.g. too high surface temperatures, blocked emergency exits, etc.) and general risks and failures (like leakage or corrosion detection).
