EN 17956 Turns One: Europe Celebrates a Year of Clear, Simple Energy-Efficiency Guidance
Today marks the first anniversary of EN 17956, the European technical insulation energy-efficiency class standard that came into force exactly one year ago. Since its publication, EN 17956 has provided industry with a clear and practical method to classify the energy performance of technical insulation — helping companies across Europe reduce energy waste and improve efficiency.
To celebrate this milestone, EiiF has launched a Europe-wide social media campaign. Together with its engaged community, EiiF aims for an impressive target: more than 450 coordinated posts in a single day, all sharing the same message and cartoon across Europe and beyond.
At the heart of the campaign is a short, entertaining cartoon delivering a simple but powerful reminder:
Paying for energy you don’t use is waste – and EN 17956 helps stop it.
The initiative highlights how the standard makes it easier for industry to understand and apply energy-efficient technical insulation solutions. EN 17956 defines performance classes that are clear, practical, and straightforward to use, giving companies a reliable tool to reduce unnecessary energy losses.
The campaign’s recommended message underlines this purpose:
Paying for energy you don’t even use is waste. The new European standard EN 17956 shows how easy it is to stop that waste. It defines the energy-efficient technical insulation performance industry needs — clear, practical, and straightforward to apply. 💡 It’s not magic – and it’s so easy to use.
