How AI is Giving Insulation Experts a Communication Edge
In the world of industrial insulation, technical know-how is king — but it’s not always enough to win new projects. You can be a master of heat-flow calculations and Technical Insulation specifications yet still struggle to put your value into words that make decision-makers say “yes.” This communication gap is one reason why the energy-saving potential of insulation remains underused in industry — despite over 3.000 TIPCHECK audits worldwide proving it’s one of the fastest-payback efficiency measures available.
Now, an unexpected ally is stepping in: Artificial Intelligence. Tools like ChatGPT and Copilot are giving insulation professionals a fast, practical way to craft persuasive emails, concise reports, and client-friendly proposals — without spending hours at the keyboard. And as the European Industrial Insulation Foundation (EiiF) has discovered through its TIPCHECK training courses, these AI tools are helping even the most technically minded experts become clearer, faster, and more confident communicators.
Not every insulation specialist — nor every certified TIPCHECK Expert — combines deep technical expertise with equally strong communication skills. Since 2010, EiiF has trained more than 300 professionals from member companies in 36 TIPCHECK courses. These intensive one-week sessions combine technical theory with hands-on practice using our digital tools, such as the TIPCHECK TOOL and TIPCHECK Calculator. The technical content is rarely an issue — participants excel in the practical exercises — but a recurring challenge lies in producing well-written materials: acquisition emails, marketing texts, executive summaries, and project descriptions for final reports.
Turning Technical Expertise into Persuasive Communication
How insulation specialists are using AI to bridge the gap between complex calculations and client-friendly language.
To address this, we have integrated AI into the training curriculum over the past two years. Trainees receive practical tips on using ChatGPT or Copilot to draft professional emails, structure documentation, and create persuasive texts. These tools produce polished drafts ready for quick editing and personalisation, significantly reducing time spent writing.
